Director’s Message
Lisa Vander Weide, CLAS

Can you believe Spring is already here? Soon it will be time to pack our bags and “Return to Reno”.

NALA is hard at work preparing for another great Convention. By now, you’ve probably seen the brochure. If not, visit the NALA web site and download the .pdf version. You don’t want to miss out on a great experience. Affiliates have their own preparation to do for our Annual Affiliates Meeting on

July 14, 2004. A lot of the information you need to get started is in this issue of The Affiliates Brief so keep reading! Each affiliate will also receive a packet of information in early April. Make sure you read through each piece of information you receive so you don’t miss an important deadline. The Sierra Nevada Association of Paralegals and the other associations in Region IX are busy with their plans to play hosts to us at the Convention.

Thanks to all of you for your efforts to make us feel welcome in Reno. I also hear the “competition” is getting tougher at the Affiliates tables for Friday, July 16. We’ve had tar heel cookies from North Carolina, buckeyes from Ohio, Hershey’s Kisses from Pennsylvania in previous Conventions. It will be fun to see what our affiliates come up with next. Of course, this isn’t a requirement for an Affiliate table.

Before we head off to Reno, our affiliates will be busy with seminars, annual meetings, CLA Review Courses, and many other projects. If you are looking for a fresh idea for those projects, try posting a question on NALA Net or contact me. I’ll be happy to share any of the information your fellow affiliates have shared with me about their programs.

Please keep those newsletters, phone
calls and e-mails coming. We love hearing from each and every one of you.

See you in Reno!
